30 Day Character Building Challenge

Day Five

READ.

This might not seem important, but as the years pass, I find it to be more and more true. Reading helps you develop a style of writing. Reading helps you find characters you love.

But it also helps you pick out what you don’t like.

It gives you a roadmap for you to follow (or make your own way, if you so choose).

Read through some of your favorite characters, and the best characters ever written. Break them down to answer the previous questions from the last few days. The more practice you have with peeling those layers back, the easier it becomes to write.
